Volunteer Opportunities

Oceanside Hospice has over 60 volunteers who are the heart and soul of our organization. There are many different areas within our organization that you can help support, and new volunteers are always welcome.  Assignment of volunteers is based on community needs. Volunteer training is provided two times per year.

Becoming a Client Support Volunteer

Client support volunteers work directly with our clients in their homes, Hospice unit at Trillium and with our bereavement support programs including the Self-Care Clinic. It is mandatory that every volunteer must complete a 30 hour hospice volunteer training program which runs over seven weeks. The cost is $75 and includes the annual membership fee.

If you are interested in training, please bring in the completed Volunteer Application to Oceanside Hospice Society and set-up an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator Heather Fraser.  Heather can be reached by calling 250.752.6227 or via email at heather@oceansidehospice.com

Equipment Delivery Volunteers

Equipment delivery volunteers are ready and willing volunteers who deliver equipment as required to clients in their homes via our Hospice Van.  It is not necessary that drivers take the volunteer training; however, volunteers will need to attend an information and equipment orientation session.

We are always in search of drivers, even a few hours a month would be much appreciated.

Friends of Hospice

Oceanside Hospice Society is currently recruiting volunteers:  We are looking for past, existing and new volunteers to work with us on the following projects:
